- ERROR MESSAGES IN CASE OF INCORRECT USE OR LOW BATTERIES: Error messages will be displayed if the cuff was not attached properly, if the cuff cannot be properly inflated, if diastolic or systolic pressure cannot be detected, if there is a system error, or if the batteries need to be replaced. Check the cuff tube and battery/power status and if all in order repeat the measurement without moving or talking. 
- AUTOMATIC SWITCH OFF: The device switches off automatically to save battery life, if no buttons are pressed for 3 minutes.

GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR BEURER GERMANY BM 40 BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR WITH MAINS ADAPTOR
To track changes in your blood pressure reliably, measure it regularly under consistent conditions:
FREQUENCY & TIMING: Measure twice daily - morning after getting up and evening, always at the same time each day.
PREPARATION: Rest for 5 minutes beforehand. Avoid measuring within 30 minutes of eating, drinking, smoking, or exercising. Ensure you're physically relaxed and not under stress.
DURING MEASUREMENT: Sit still, don’t talk, keep feet flat on the floor, arm supported on a flat surface, and the cuff at heart level.
IF REPEATING MEASUREMENTS: Wait 5 minutes between each measurement.
ARM SELECTION: Measure on the same arm each time, preferably the one with higher readings. Minor differences between arms are normal.
ACCURACY: Blood pressure fluctuates naturally, so one-off readings are not reliable. Only regular, consistent measurements under comparable conditions provide meaningful insight. The accuracy of this blood pressure monitor has been clinically checked (see technical specifications).
ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY (EMC): This blood pressure monitor contains sensitive, precision electronic components. To ensure accurate readings and prolong its lifespan, handle it with care: Protect the device from impacts, moisture, dust, extreme temperatures, and direct sunlight. Do not drop the device. Avoid using or storing the device near other electronic devices, including your cellphone, as electromagnetic fields such as those from radio systems and mobile phones may cause errors, malfunctions, or display issues.
MAINS OR BATTERY POWER SUPPLY & DATA HANDLING: You can use either batteries or a mains adapter. Using both power sources simultaneously may damage the device. Take out the batteries if you are going to use the mains adaptor. Data is saved only when the device is powered. If power is lost, due to low batteries or unplugging the device, date and time settings are erased, but measurements remain saved. Replace all batteries when the low battery symbol appears. Always reset the date and time after battery change or unplugging the adapter. Setting the correct date and time is essential to ensure your average and daily readings are saved with accurate timestamps and can be reliably retrieved later. Remember that you can also scan and save all your measured readings in the Beurer Health Manager App.
CAUTION: Do not use the cuff on people who have undergone a mastectomy. Do not place the cuff over wounds as this may cause further injury.
