Why use the Beurer Germany IH 58 Compressed-Air Technology Nebuliser?
Put your trust in innovative inhalation technologies. The compact, lightweight, and easy-to-use IH 58 nebulizer offers high performance in a small package and effective respiratory treatment for the whole family! The extensive provided accessories include both a child and adult mask, making the IH 58 suitable for use by children and adults alike. A high performing nebuliser allows you to treat both acute and chronic respiratory diseases and actively prevent colds.

*NB Please note that this device is mains operated via USB cable. It must be connected to mains power to operate. It is not rechargeable

Highlights
Compressed Air Technology:
Compressed air technology found in the IH 58 produces fine particles of 4.12 microns, which transport the active ingredients deep into the lungs. Compressed air technology therefore results in a high proportion of respirable particles. 1 000 microns is equal to 1 mm
Shorter Inhalation Time:
With a nebulization performance of approximately 0.25 ml/min, you get a shorter inhalation time. This means treatment can begin to take effect more quickly and it is easier to treat children who may struggle to sit still for very long.
Holistic Treatment of the Airways:
Nebulisation provides a clinical proven and comprehensive method to treat the upper and lower airways, acute and chronic diseases, including asthma. You can comfortably deliver care to the airways and effectively prevent colds.
Space-Saving yet High-Performing:
The nebuliser has an impressively compact design, which makes it notably space-saving. Its handy size makes it easy to store at home or travel with so that you can keep it close at hand when you need it. The IH 58 Nebuliser is an ideal companion in your everyday life - whether used occasionally or for regular treatment of your airways.
Hygienic Application:
The device is easy to clean thanks to removable components. This ensures that nebulisation is always very hygienic.
Extensive Accessories and Therefore Suitable for the Whole Family:
The nebuliser is supplied with extensive accessories, including a children's mask, making it suitable for use by adults and children 2 years of age and up. A baby mask for children 0-3 years old can be purchased separately. The nebuliser comes equipped with the atomiser, mouthpiece, nosepiece, adult mask, children's mask, compressed air hose and spare filter
Medical Device:
CE certified in the European Union. Beurer South Africa is licensed by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) to import and distribute medical devices in South Africa. Beurer nebulisers are classified as medical devices in both South Africa and Europe..

Why use a Nebulizer?
Inhalation is the most effective way to administer medication for most respiratory system conditions for the following reasons:
The medication is transported directly to the target organs
The local bioavailability of the medication is significantly increased
Systemic diffusion is reduced substantially
Only very low doses of the medication are required
Quick and effective therapeutic effect
Side effects are significantly reduced compared to systemic administration
Humidifying of the airways
Loosening and making (bronchial) secretions more liquid
Releasing bronchospasms (spasmolysis)
Relieving swollen and inflamed bronchial mucosa
Coughing up secretions
Fighting viruses that affect the upper and lower airways.
The nebuliser can be used for diseases of the upper and/or lower airways including rhinitis, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis and laryngitis.
Also, bronchial asthma, bronchitis, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), bronchiectasis, acute tracheobronchitis, cystic fibrosis and pneumonia.

Spare Parts / Accessories:
As with any plastic parts, atomisers and their accessories are affected by a certain amount of wear and tear when used and hygienically prepared on a frequent basis.
We therefore recommend that you replace the atomiser and spare parts after a year.
IH 60 / IH 58 Spare: The Year Pack for the IH 58 Nebuliser is available for purchase separately and includes 1 x mouthpiece, 1 x nosepiece, 1 x adult mask, 1x children's mask, 1 x atomizer, 1 x compressed air hose, 10 filters (item code 60215)
Paediatric mask for IH 18/21/26/58/60: A baby / paediatric mask for babies and children 0-3 years is available for purchase separately (item code 60131).

How to Obtain the Most Effective Treatment from Your IH 58 Nebuliser:
- Please note that this device is mains operated via USB cable. It must be connected to mains power to operate. It is not rechargeable. Please use the USB cable and mains adaptor supplied only (output: max. 5V/2A). For optimum functioning the device needs to be plugged into a 2 Amp / 2000 milliAmp (mA) power supply. Most power supplies only provide 1 Amp/ 1000 mA. The device is not rechargeable and therefore does not offer cordless operation.
- When inhaling, sit upright and relaxed at a table and not in an armchair to avoid compressing the airways and therefore impairing the effectiveness of the treatment.
- During treatment, hold the atomiser straight (vertically), otherwise the atomisation will not work and faultless functionality is not guaranteed.
- Breathe in the atomised medication deeply.
- This nebuliser is an inhalation device for atomising liquids and liquid medication (aerosols). Essential oils, cough syrups, gargling solutions and drops to be used as a rub or in a steam bath are wholly unsuitable for inhalation using a nebuliser. These additions are often viscous and can impair the correct functioning of the device and therefore the effectiveness of the application in the long-term. For individuals with a hypersensitive bronchial system, medications containing essential oils may under certain conditions cause an acute bronchospasm (a sudden cramp-like restriction of the bronchi with shortness of breath). Consult your doctor or pharmacist in relation to this matter.
- You should always follow the instructions of your doctor regarding the type of medication to use, the dosage, and the frequency and duration of inhalation. Only use medication prescribed or recommended by your doctor or pharmacist.
- The most effective form of nebulisation is by using the mouthpiece. Nebulisation using a mask is only recommended if it is not possible to use a mouthpiece (e.g. for children who are not yet able to inhale medication using a mouthpiece). If you are using the adult mask, you can secure it to your head with the adult mask strap. There is also a strap for the children’s mask. When using a mask to inhale, take care to ensure the mask fits well and the eyes are unobstructed.
- In addition to the accompanying adult and children’s mask (from 2 years of age), you also have the option of using a baby or paediatric mask (from ages 0-3 years) with your nebuliser. The baby mask is not included in delivery with the IH 58, but is available and sold separately.
- The use of the device may be limited in the presence of electromagnetic disturbances. This could result in issues such as error messages or the failure of the display/device.  Avoid using this device directly next to other devices or stacked on top of other devices, as this could lead to faulty operation.
- Please note the general hygiene and cleaning instructions in the manual.
- The device is not suitable for continuous operation. After 30 minutes of operation it must be switched off for 30 minutes.
